Perovskite with mixed ionic and electronic conductivity acts as good oxygen carrier/transporter. When it supports metal catalysts for reaction with oxygen involved, the perovskite phase acts as oxygen supply due to its fast reaction with oxygen on the surface.
It has been demonstrated in our lab that this type of catalysts can promote methane reforming and partial oxidation, and more stable than the conventional nickel catalysts.
